Grayscale PDF
Turn every page black and white for printing.
Runs entirely in your browser. Verify it in your network tab.One file at a time.
Only for pages that have to be flattened (spot colours, gradients). Standard is plenty for notes and slides.
Leave empty to convert every page. Other pages stay in colour.
What this does
The colours are converted inside the PDF itself: text, lines and shapes turn grey but stay text and vectors, so they remain selectable, searchable and sharp, and photos are turned grey where they sit. Every converted page is then rendered and checked. A page that still shows colour (a spot colour or a gradient) is drawn as a grey image instead, at the quality you choose, so the result always prints grey. Pages you leave out are untouched.
Limits
- Pages with spot colours, gradients or CMYK photos are flattened to images, and the summary says how many; their text is then no longer selectable.
- Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.
Is this private?
Yes, and you can check rather than take our word for it. Open your browser's network tab and run the tool: your file never appears in it, because there is no server to send it to. The whole site is static files, plus the WebAssembly engine that does the work, which is served from this same domain.
